Manly

One thing that comes to mind when I think of Sydney or Australia is the beach. Considering that one of the regions within New South Wales is called Northern Beaches it is implied that there are many to choose from which is true. However if you’re coming to see the beach life during summer then one of the beaches you should go to is Manly.

You can get to Manly either by taking a 30 minute ferry from Circular Quay to Manly Warf or if you’re staying within the Northern Beaches there are buses from Brookvale (10-15 minute bus ride) or Frenchs Forest (50 minute bus ride) that can get to Manly.

If the beach and seaside are your interests then enjoy the beaches that line Manly’s sea side with Queenscliff Beach, North Steyne Beach and Manly Beach, which are 3 sections of beach all connected.

There is ample space to surf or learn to surf at Manly Surf School where they provide all the gear for first-timers, and plenty of space to enjoy the sand.

There are also Bike Tours with over 20 kilometres of dedicated bicycle track with a 2 hour tour run with booking costing $89.

Once you’re there then the fun can begin with many things to do. Many SEA LIFE Sanctuary is an aquarium that houses a number of local marine life and even has activities such as ‘Shark Dive Xtreme’ (booking required). Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary is open from 10 am – 5:30 pm every day, except Christmas Day with ticket prices at $22 for Adults, $12 for children (4-15 yrs), $16 for Student/Pensioner, or $50 for a Family of 4 ($10 for each additional child) (booking tickets online can save a minimum of 10% when you book online).
